In this segment of my WordPress niche domination launch process, I’m going to show you how to upload and edit the SEO Ultimate plugin. This plugin is going to allow you to edit title tags, meta descriptions, apply no index / no follow tags to new pages and a whole bunch of other stuff that is important for search visibility.
How to Install the SEO Ultimate Plugin for WordPress
Instructions:
1.) Log into the WordPress dashboard using your username and password.
2.) Select the “Plugins” link located on the left side navigation
3.) Select “Add New” from the drop down menu
4.) Type “SEO Ultimate” into the Search Plugins field.
5.) Click “Install Now” next to the SEO Ultimate plugin
6.) After the plugin has been installed correctly, select “Activate Plugin”

In this video of the WordPress launch training series I’ll show you how to create optimized URL strings using WordPress. Similar to other steps in this series getting this task accomplished is relatively easy as long as you know what to do. As per the usual, I recommend installing the latest version of WordPress (at the time of writing the latest is version 3.3). The upload process might be a little bit different if you’re using an old version so just make sure you’ve got everything up to date for easier installation.
Now by default WordPress does not create SEO optimized URLs. When you start posting content using default setting your blog posts will look something like this:
http://www.yourwebsiteurl.com/?p=123
Obviously from an SEO as well as a click-through rate stand point in the SERPs this is not ideal. Ideally, we would be able to plug some relevant keywords into our URLs. That way if I’m targeting the keyword phrase “Yellow Shoes” within search-engines I could make my URL look something like this:
http://www.yourwebsiteurl.com/yellow-shoes/
Follow the instructions within the video below for instructions on how to set this up.
SEO Optimized URLs in WordPress
Instructions:
1.) Log into the WordPress dashboard with your username and password
2.) Click “settings”
3.) Click “Permalinks”
4.) Select the “custom structure” button
5.) Insert the following into the custom structure field without spaces: /%postname%/
6.) Click the “Save Changes” button located at the bottom of the page
7.) Check to see if the optimized URL feature works when you post a new article.

Also, keep in mind that you don’t really need to upload a WordPress skin for your website to look great. If you like the way your existing WordPress template looks that’s great. However, if you want to change the appearance of your template fast I recommend using a skin to speed up the process.
How to Upload a Custom WordPress Skin for the FlexSqueeze Template

A website’s title is located near the top of most WordPress themes. When you start a new WordPress blog or website the default title will typically be youwebsiteurl.com. Fortunately, you can edit this field to very easily.
Usually, I give the website title the same name as my website. In my opinion this provides a bit of continuity between when someone clicks your listing within the SERPs and arrives on your website.
